Ekene Music is a Nigerian-born singer, songwriter. His songs combine thoughtful lyricism, soulful guitar work, and cultural reflection, drawing from both African and global musical traditions. Working within a style he calls Nigerian Funk Reggae—a fusion of soulful guitar, reggae groove, and chants rooted in storytelling - he explores themes of identity, migration, and the human condition. His performances are both intimate and reflective, carrying forward a lineage of socially conscious music reminiscent of artists such as Fela Kuti and Gil Scott-Heron, while carving out a voice distinctly his own.
