Jasmin La Caris
Jasmín La Carís is an acclaimed choreographer and dancer celebrated for her dynamic artistry in Flamenco and Contemporary Dance. Her work bridges cultural tradition with innovative performance, earning her recognition across California's dance and arts communities. She has collaborated with industry luminaries such as renowned choreographer Manuel Gutierrez at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles and has performed at high-profile events including Padres Contra el Cáncer with actress Eva Longoria and Verizon’s Latino Entrepreneur of the Year celebration at the Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA). In 2022, she shared the stage with internationally acclaimed dancer Mizuho Sato and was invited to perform at the California Arts and Culture Summit. Jasmín’s creative pursuits include an ongoing artistic partnership with her husband, Omar Naré, where they fuse Nuevo Mariachi music with expressive dance. Together, they have delivered powerful performances for distinguished organizations such as the California Wine Institute, Daou Vineyards, and Apple. In addition to her professional stage work, Jasmín remains deeply committed to community engagement and arts education. She choreographed and performed for Fresno City College’s City Dances showcase in 2022 and was choreographer and performer for the California Opera’s 2023 production of La Traviata. For the 10th year now, Jasmín continues to teach Flamenco classes at Fresno City College’s annual Dance Expo, in hopes to nurture the next generation of dancers. Jasmín continues to perform at local festivals and cultural celebrations, including the Vintage Days Festival, Central Valley Dance Festival, and Roosevelt School of the Arts. She serves as a dance instructor and choreographer for Fresno and the Central Valley and is the Local Volunteer Dance Advisor to the Fresno City College Dance Department. As one of the few Flamenco instructors in the region, Jasmín La Carís is a vital force in preserving and evolving the treasured art form of Flamenco within California’s Central Valley.
